Resolution - 17-05 - Authorizing Municipal Recycling GrantCITY OF SPRING PARK SPRING PARK, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 17-05 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MUNICIPAL RECYCLING GRANT AGREEMENT WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statute 115A.552, Counties shall ensure that residents have an opportunity to recycle; and WHEREAS, Hennepin County Ordinance 13 requires each City to implement a recycling program to enable the County to meet its recycling goals; and WHEREAS, the County has adopted a Hennepin County Residential Recycling Funding Policy to distribute funds to cities for the development and implementation of a recycling program; and WHEREAS, to be eligible to receive these County funds, cities must meet the conditions set forth in the funding policy and the agreement; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to receive these municipal recycling grant funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Spring Park City Council authorizes and directs the Mayor, City Administrator and city staff to execute a Residential Recycling Grant Agreement with Hennepin County for the years 2017 through 2020. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that as a condition to receive grant funds under the Hennepin County funding policy, the City agrees to implement a recycling program as committed to by its submission of the 2017 Hennepin County Residential Recycling Grant Application and the City will use such County funds for the limited purpose of implementing the City's waste reduction and recycling program.
