Resolution - 16-18 - Election Judge CompensationCITY OF SPRING PARK COUNTY OF HENNEPIN STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 16-18 RESOLUTION RELATING TO ELECTION JUDGE COMPENSATION WHEREAS, the City of Spring Park is responsible for setting the compensation rate for Election Judges that work at all municipal elections; and, WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 20413.31, Subd. 1 (d) requires that election judges shall receive at least the prevailing Minnesota minimum wage; and, WHEREAS, the prevailing Minnesota minimum wage is $9.50 per hour as of August 1, 2016; and, WHEREAS, the Spring Park City Council recognizes that Election Judges provide a great service to the community, serve a vital role in the democratic process and should receive adequate compensation for their service; and, WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that the Head Election Judge receives additional training, handles more complex duties, manages the polling place on Election Day, and should therefore receive a higher rate of compensation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Spring Park, that the following compensation rate for Election Judges is hereby established and is effective immediately: Election Judge $9.50 per hour Head Election Judge $11.00 per hour APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Spring Park, Minnesota, at a regular meeting held on October 17, 2016. _ l ruce Willi son, Mayor ATTEST: Ian- .L Theresa Schyma, City Clerk
