Purpose of the Presentation
• To give an update on the status of compliance with the MS4 Permit
conditions and the City of Spring Park's SWPPP implementation .

Provide opportunity for public comment at least once yearly.

What is an MS4?
• A Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) is a conveyance or
system of conveyances designed and used for collecting stormwater.
This includes roads with drainage systems, municipal streets, catch
basins, curbs, gutters, ditches, man-made channels, and storm drains
that are owned or operated by a government unit having jurisdiction
under section 208 of the Clean Water Act that discharges to waters of
the United States.

Resident Tips
Keep leaves and grass clippings off paved surfaces; they contribute greatly
to phosphorus levels in water bodies
• Minimize over-fertilizing and clean up any fertilizer spills on pavement.
Remove snow and ice shortly after snowfall is over to reduce build-up of ice
• Use sand instead of salt on sidewalks and driveways
Sweep up extra salt or sand if salt or sand is visible on dry pavement.
• Plant native plant buffers along shorelines to filter runoff prior to it entering
the lake.
