SCOPE OF WORK: Install stone veneer 44"up from grade on a dwelling.
PLAN SPECIFIC ITEMS(to be completed during the construction process):
1. Stone veneer manufacturer's installation instructions shall be on-site and available to the inspector during
inspections.
2. Stone veneer shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
3. There shall be a minimum of 1"clearance from metal lath edges and all electrical wiring.
4. R703.12.1 Clearances(2020 Minnesota State Residential Code). On exterior stud walls, adhered masonry veneer
shall be installed:
Minimum of 4 inches above the earth;
Minimum of 2 inches above paved areas;or
Minimum of 1/2 inch above exterior walking surfaces that are supported by the same foundation that
supports the exterior wall.
5. R703.12.2 Flashing at foundation(2020 Minnesota State Residential Code). A corrosion-resistant screed or
flashing of a minimum 0.019-inch or26-gage galvanized or plastic with a minimum vertical attachment flange of 3-
1/2 inches shall be installed to extend a minimum of 1 inch below the foundation plate line on exterior stud walls.
6. R703.7.1 Lath(2020 Minnesota State Residential Code).All lath and lath attachments shall be of corrosion-
resistant materials. Expanded metal or woven wire lath shall be attached with 11-gage nails having a 7/16-inch
head or 16-gage staples, spaced at no more than 6 inches or as otherwise approved. Nails or staples shall
penetrate wood framing support members not less than 3/4 inch.
7. R703.7.3 Water-resistive barriers(2020 Minnesota State Residential Code). A water resistance of not less than
that of 60-minute Grade D paper shall be applied over the sheathing.
GENERAL ITEMS:
1. Construction or work shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of Minnesota Rule 1300.0210.
2. It is the responsibility of the contractor/installer to contact the Department of Building Safety, when ready to
schedule an inspection, at(952)442-7520 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
3. The approved permit and all related plans and documentation shall be on site and available to the inspector at the
time of inspection.
4. Failure to provide the required documentation to the inspector at the time of inspection may result in a cancelation
of the inspection and additional inspection fees for the additional inspection(s).
5. The field inspector may identify additional code requirement.
