insulating exterior walls, interior common walls, and floor/ceiling assembly, apply tape and mud coat to new gypsum
board installation, clean and paint hallway walls, and clean hallway carpets. Any finishing of the dwelling unit will require
a separate permit(cabinets, countertops, interior doors, plumbing fixtures, mechanical systems, etc.) .
PLAN SPECIFIC ITEMS(to be completed during the construction process):
1. Peep holes shall comply with the following requirements. Viewports shall have a hole not larger than 1-inch in
diameter through the door, have not less than a 0.25-inch-thick glass disc and the holder is of metal that will not
melt out where subject to temperatures of 1,700°F. (2020 Minnesota State Building Code, Section 716.2.2.1,
exception#1)
2. Vapor retarder shall be installed over the exterior insulation being replaced and existing vapor retarder shall be
replaced, or penetrations/rips resealed.
3. Exterior insulation replacement shall consist of batts that will completely fill the stud cavity(i.e. 4" batts will not be
acceptable in a 6"stud wall cavity)
4. Smoke alarms shall be installed within bedroom and outside, in the vicinity of the each bedroom door.

1. Construction or work shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of Minnesota Rule 1300.0210.
2. It is the responsibility of the contractor/installer to contact the Department of Building Safety,when ready to
schedule an inspection, at(952)442-7520 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
3. The approved permit and all related plans and documentation shall be on site and available to the inspector at the
time of inspection.
4. Failure to provide the required documentation to the inspector at the time of inspection may result in a cancelation
of the inspection and additional inspection fees for the additional inspection(s).
