PLAN SPECIFIC ITEMS (to be completed during the construction process): 1. A field test shall be conducted with all appliances under the hood at operating temperatures, all the hoods operating at design airflows, and with all sources of replacement air operating at design airflows for the restaurant. Capture and containment shall be verified visually by observing smoke or steam produced by actual cooking operation or by simulating cooking using devices such as smoke candles or smoke puffers. Smoke bombs shall not be used. (ANSIIASHRAE Standard 154-2016, Section 4.7.2) 2. The exhaust fan serving a Type I hood shall have automatic controls that will activate the fan when any appliance is turned on, or a means of interlock shall be provided that will prevent operation of such appliances when the exhaust fan is not turned on. (ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 154-2016, Section 5.7.1.1) GENERAL ITEMS: 1. Construction or work shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of Minnesota Rule 1300.0210. 2. It is the responsibility of the contractor/installer to contact the Department of Building Safety, when ready to schedule an Inspection, at (952) 442-7520 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. 3. The approved permit and all related plans and documentation shall be on site and available to the inspector at the time of inspection. 4.
