1. Provide the gas line material type, gas line installation route from the meter/manifold to the unit heater, gas line
size, gas line design pressure, and the length of the gas line from the meter/manifold to the unit heater. If the gas
line will be connected to an existing gas line, then provide verification that the size of the existing gas line is
adequate to support the additional BTUs of the new unit heater and the other appliances connected to the existing
gas line. Information shall be provided on a clean floor plan indicating information specific to this project. Revise
and re -submit plans.
2. Provide the use of the space where the unit heater will be installed. Revise and re -submit plans.
3. Without knowing the use of the space, explain/provide how ventilation rate requirements, if any, will be met.

SCOPE OF WORK, Replacing unit heater in Suite B and adding unit heater in Suite D. Installation of gas line to unit

PLAN SPECIFIC ITEMS (to be completed during the construction process):
1. Unit heater installation shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. Installation
instructions shall be on -site and available to the inspector during inspections.
2. All new gas lines shall be tested in accordance with the 2020 Minnesota Fuel Gas Code, Section 406.4-test
pressure shall be not less than 25 psig. for a duration of/2 hour.
3. Gas line valves shall be of an approved type, shall be constructed of materials compatible with the piping, and
shall comply with the standard that is applicable for the pressure and application in accordance with Table 409.1.1
of the 2020 Minnesota State Fuel Gas Code. Valves shall also be installed within W-W of the appliance and
upstream of the union (2020 Minnesota State Fuel Gas Code, Section 409.5.1)
4. 408.4 Sediment trap (2020 Mlnnesota State Fuel Gas Code, Section 408.4). Where a sediment trap is not
incorporated as part of the appliance, a sediment trap shall be installed downstream of the appliance shutoff valve
as close to the inlet of the appliance as practical. The sediment trap shall be either a tee fitting having a capped
nipple of any length installed vertically in the bottommost opening of the tee.
5. Bottom of the unit heater shall not be less than 80" above the finished floor, while maintaining the required
clearances to combustibles per the manufacturer's installation instructions. (2020 Minnesota State Building Code,
Section 1003.3.1)
6. Relabel gas line at the gas meter located on the exterior of the building to include Suite D.
GENERAL ITEMS:
1. Construction or work shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of Minnesota Rule 1300.0210.
2. It is the responsibility of the contractor/installer to contact the Department of Building Safety, when ready to
schedule an inspection, at (952) 442-7520 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
3. The approved permit and all related plans and documentation shall be on site and available to the inspector at the
time of inspection.
4. Failure to provide the required documentation to the inspector at the time of Inspection may result in a cancelation
of the inspection and additional inspection fees for the additional inspection(s ).
5. The field inspector may identify additional code requirements during inspections. (Example of code requirement
items that might be identified are fire sprinkler heads being obstructed by framing, beams, lighting, ceiling
configurations, plumbing pipes, and mechanical system ductwork that will req uire review by the fire suppression
plan reviewer. Additional work being completed that is not consistent with the project scope of work or the
approved plans.)
