SCOPE OF WORK: Replacing one (1) roof top unit. Removal & disposal of existing roof top unit. Install new Carrier
48FCM 12A2A6-OA)AOA 10-ton, medium heat, single circuit two -stage cooling with low leak economizer, 460/3-phase
voltage, install new smoke head in economizer, condensate safety switch per MN code, reconnect gas line, reconnect
supply & return ducting.
PLAN SPECIFIC ITEMS (to be completed during the construction process):
1. It is assumed that the new roof tap units are comparable to the existing roof top units in size, BTU inputloutput,
CFM, and performance. If not, a reevaluation of the required ventilation at the spaces the roof top unit supplies
shall be completed.
2. Any modrfications to the roof structure shall be approved by a structural engineer and a separate building permit
obtained prior to commencing with the modification.
3. An OSHA approved ladder or other approved roof access shall be provided to the inspector during all Inspections.
4. All roof curb flashings shall remain Intact or be repaired If damaged.
5. Roof top units with a smoke detector Installed shall be tested for proper operation of the smoke detector In shutting
down the roof top unit when activated.
6. 307.2.1 Condensate disposal (2020 Minnesota State Mechanical Code). Condensate from all cooling coils and
evaporators shall be conveyed from the drain pan outlet to an approved place of disposal. Such piping shall
maintain a minimum horizontal slope in the direction of discharge of not less than one -eighth unit vertical in 12units
horizontal (1-percent slope). Condensate shall not discharge into a street, alley or other areas so as to cause a
nuisance.
7 307.2.3.1 Water -level monitoring devices (2020 Minnesota State Mechanical Code). On down -flow units and all
other coils that do not have a secondary drain or provisions to install a secondary or auxiliary drain pan, a water -
level monitoring device shall be installed inside the primary drain pan. This device shall shut off the equipment
served in the event that the primary drain becomes restricted. Devices installed in the drain line shall not be
permitted.
8. Gas line valves shall be of an approved type, shalt be constructed of materials compatible with the piping, and
shall comply with the standard that is applicable for the pressure and application In accordance with Table 409.1.1
of the 2020 Minnesota State Fuel Gas Code. Vahres shall also be installed within 6'-0* of the appliance and
upstream of the union (2020 Minnesota State Fuel Gas Code, Section 409.5. 1)
9. 408.4 Sediment trap (2020 Minnesota State Fuel Gas Code, Section 408.4). Where a sediment trap is not
incorporated as part of the appliance, a sediment trap shall be installed downstream of the appliance shutoff valve
as close to the inlet of the appliance as practical. The sediment trap shall be either a tee fitting having a capped
nipple of any length installed vertically in the bottommost opening of the tee.
