AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 10-31,10-32, AND 10-33 OF THE SPRING
PARK CITY CODE TO TRANSFER ELECTRICAL PERMITTING AND INSPECTION
AUTHORITY TO THE STATE AND UPDATE STATE STATUTORY CODE
REFERENCES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SPRING PARK, MINNESOTA
ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Sections 10-31, 10-32, and 10-33 of Chapter 10 (Building Code Ordinance)
are hereby amended to delete the strikeouts and add the underlined language to read as follows:
Sec. 10-31. Adopted.
(a) The Minnesota State Building Code, established pursuant to Minn. Stat. 5§ 16B.9-46B.7- ,
326B.101 — 326B.194, is adopted as the building code for the city. The code is incorporated in
this article as if fully set out. A copy of the code shall be kept on file in the office of the city
administrator/ clerk/ treasurer.
(b) For purposes of this article, the Minnesota State Building Code includes the following chapters
of Minnesota Rules:
(1) 1301 Building Official Certification.
(2) 1302 State BuRding Construction Approvals.
(3) 1305 Adoption of tke 4997 ti& � International Building Code.
(4) 1307 Elevators and Related Devices Code.
(5) 1315 Minnesota Electrical Code.

Sec.10-32. Application, administration and enforcement.
(a) The application, administration, and enforcement of the building code shall be in accordance
with Minnesota Rules, chapter 1300. The building code shall be enforced within the
extraterritorial limits permitted by Minn. Stat. § 16B 62, subd.' 326B.121 subd 2 d ,when so
established by ordinance,
(b) The code enforcement agency of this municipality is the city. The city shall appoint a building
official to administer the code, excel2t for electrical permitting and inspections as outlined
below_ who shall have the qualifications set forth in Minn. Stat. g 16B.65 26B.133, subd. 2, and
who shall be certified as provided in Minn. Stat. g 1 l�326B.133, subd. 3. All electrical
permitting and inspections shall be administered and conducted by the State of Minnesota, as
managed by the Department of Labor and Industry DLI
Sec.10-33. Permits and fees.
(a) The issuance of permits and the collection of fees shall be as authorized in Minn. Stat. §
"'- 62, sttba ' 326B.121, and
in accordance with Minnesota
Rules_ chapters 1300 and 1305.
(b) Permit fees shall be assessed for work governed by the code in accordance with the fee
schedule in appendix A to the Code. In addition, a surcharge fee shall be collected on all
permits issued for work governed by the code in accordance with Minn. Stat. § 16B.70
326B.148.
Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effective immediately upon its passage and
publication.
