INTERIOR DRAIN TILE
- All water from foundation drains or sumps must be pumped or drained
directly to the exterior through rigid plastic or steel piping. No sump water
is allowed to be pumped into floor drains, sinks, or any other access to
sanitary sewer.
- Caulk and flash at all exterior openings.
- No new pathways for radon entry shall be created.
- Sump cover must be solid material and secured.
- Drain tile must be protected from sediment intrusion.
- Minimum slab thickness 3 1/2".

iii. On each additional story of the dwelling, including basements and habitable attics but not including crawl
spaces and uninhabitable attics. In dwellings or dwelling units with split levels and without an intervening
door between the adjacent levels, a smoke alarm installed on the upper level shall suffice for the adjacent
lower level provided that the lower level is less than one full story below the upper level.
iv. Smoke alarms shall not be installed within 3' horizontally of a bathroom that contains a tub or shower unless
this requirement would interfere with other required placements.
2. Carbon monoxide alarms shall be installed outside and not more than 10 feet from each separate sleeping area or
bedroom. Alarms shall be installed on each level containing sleeping areas or bedrooms. Alarms shall also be
installed inside each bedroom where a fuel -fired appliance is present in the bedroom, or it's attached bathroom.

Buildings shall be provided with approved address identification. The address identification shall be legible and
placed in a position visible from the street or road fronting the property. These numbers shall contrast with their
background. Address numbers shall be Arabic numbers or alphabetical letters. Numbers shall not be spelled
out. Numbers shall be a minimum of 4 inches high with a minimum stroke width of 1/2 inch. Where required by the
fire code official, address identification shall be provided in additional approved locations to facilitate emergency
response. Where access is by means of a private road and the building address cannot be viewed from the public
way, a monument, pole, or other sign or means shall be used to identify the structure. Address identification shall
be maintained. (MN Rule 1309 R319.1)
4. Minimum slab thickness is to be 3-1/2". (MN Rule 1309 R506.1)
MN Special Provisions:
1. All control joints, isolation joints, construction joints, or any other joints in the concrete slab, or the joint between
the concrete slab and a foundation wall, shall be sealed. All gaps and joints shall be cleared of all loose material
prior to sealing. (MN Rule 1303.2402 Subp. 4)
2. All replaced slabs must be a minimum of 3-1/2" thick. (MN Rule 1309.R404.1(1).
