SCOPE OF WORK: REPLACEMENT CHILLER&CONDENSER
PLAN SPECIFIC ITEMS (to be completed during the construction process):
1. It is assumed that the new units are comparable to the existing units in size, BTU input/output, CFM, and
performance. If not, a reevaluation of the required ventilation at the spaces the roof top unit supplies shall be
completed.
2. Any modifications shall be approved by a structural engineer and a separate building permit obtained prior to
commencing with the modification.
3. An OSHA approved ladder or other approved roof access shall be provided to the inspector during all inspections.
4. All roof curb flashings shall remain intact or be repaired if damaged.
5. Roof curbs shall have a minimum of R-10 insulation. If the existing curb insulation doesn't comply with the
minimum R-10 insulation, then additional insulation shall be installed to comply with this requirement. (2024
Commercial Energy Code, Section 5.5.3.1)
6. Roof curbs shall be extended or replaced if existing curbs don't permit the installation of roof insulation when roof
replacement occurs. (2024 Commercial Energy Code, Section 6.1.1.3.6)
7. 307.2.1 Condensate disposal (2020 Minnesota State Mechanical Code). Condensate from all cooling coils and
evaporators shall be conveyed from the drain pan outlet to an approved place of disposal. Such piping shall
maintain a minimum horizontal slope in the direction of discharge of not less than one-eighth unit vertical in 12
units horizontal (1-percent slope). Condensate shall not discharge into a street, alley or other areas so as to cause
a nuisance.
8. 307.2.3.1 Water-level monitoring devices(2020 Minnesota State Mechanical Code). On down-flow units and all
other coils that do not have a secondary drain or provisions to install a secondary or auxiliary drain pan, a water-
level monitoring device shall be installed inside the primary drain pan.This device shall shut off the equipment
served in the event that the primary drain becomes restricted. Devices installed in the drain line shall not be
permitted.
9. Gas line valves shall be of an approved type, shall be constructed of materials compatible with the piping, and
shall comply with the standard that is applicable for the pressure and application in accordance with Table 409.1.1
of the 2020 Minnesota State Fuel Gas Code. Valves shall also be installed within 6-0"of the appliance and
upstream of the union (2020 Minnesota State Fuel Gas Code, Section 409.5.1)
10. 408.4 Sediment trap(2020 Minnesota State Fuel Gas Code, Section 408.4). Where a sediment trap is not
incorporated as part of the appliance, a sediment trap shall be installed downstream of the appliance shutoff valve
as close to the inlet of the appliance as practical. The sediment trap shall be either a tee fitting having a capped
nipple of any length installed vertically in the bottommost opening of the tee.
GENERAL ITEMS:
1. Construction or work shall be inspected in accordance with the requirements of Minnesota Rule 1300.0210.
2. It is the responsibility of the contractor/installer to contact the Department of Building Safety,when ready to
schedule an inspection, at(952)442-7520 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
3. The approved permit and all related plans and documentation shall be on site and available to the inspector at the
time of inspection.

BSI Mechanical Inc,proposes to furnish labor and material necessary to install a new Carrier 40-ton air
cooled scroll chiller with R-32 designed scroll compressor on dual independent refrigeration circuits.
With indoor compressor brazed plate evaporator bundle with sound enclosure,outdoor split condenser.
Hot gas bypass on both circuits.Install includes the following:
• Remove refrigerant from existing unit.Remove indoor compressor bundle,remove existing refrigeration lines,and
remove asbestos cover chiller fines.
• Crane off existing condenser unit,and crane up new unit.
• taring in new compressor/brazed evaporator bundle and rig into place.
• Pipe in new refrigerant lines from evaporator bundle to condenser and install new hangers as needed and insulate.
• Pipe new chiller lines from brazed plate to system isolation valves and insulate new lines.
• Wire in new units.
• Includes start up and commissioning of new unit.Includes permits and filing fees.
• includes a one-year warranty on parts and labor,manufacturer's 5-year warranty on compressor.
Notes:BSI will require 500/o deposit with sighed proposal to secure equipment and material.
