WORK SESSION MINUTES
JUNE 15, 2026 – 5:00 PM
SPRING PARK CITY HALL
(Work Session discussion times are approximate)
1. 5:00: Welcome Orono Police Chief Chad Stensrud!
Chief Stensrud called and cancelled during the work session meeting.
2. 5:10: City Owned Property Ideas – Planning Commission Chair Hoffman
Planning Chair Hoffman presented the planning commissions ideas for the city owned properties on
Northern Avenue (possibly a small park or resident overflow parking) and on Interlachen Road (possibly a
walking entrance into Wilkes Park). The recommendation was to move forward with exploring options,
possibly clearing the pathway to Wilkes, getting a survey of both the properties to mark property lines, and
pulling together some budget numbers so we can get an idea of cost for options.
3. 5:20: Sunset Drive Construction Oversight Costs and Project Update
Erik from Moore Engineering reviewed the cost proposal for their coverage during the Sunset Drive
project. The request for them to be there came from Council to ensure oversight of the city utility portion
of the project.
4. 5:40: 2027 General Fund Budget Update & Discussion
City Administrator Anderson reviewed the draft general fund budget and where we stand today for
preliminary levy percentage.
5. 5:50: Holiday Party – Confirm Date - 12/1 or 12/2
Mayor Chase brought forward the dates for the holiday party. Council determined that 12/2 would be the
best day.
6. 5:55: Miscellaneous
7. 6:00: Adjourn
