August 25, 2026
To the Spring Park Planning Commission,
We are requesting an extension of the variance originally approved in April 2025 for 3916
Mapleton Avenue. Since receiving approval, we have continued to make steady progress
toward the project. We completed detailed architectural plans, coordinated with our engineer to
keep all structural requirements current, and conducted a test dig to confirm that our foundation
meets the required specifications. We have also finalized our material selections and compiled a
complete materials list with quantities and pricing.
Over the past several months, we have met with multiple contractors and building crews. While
we have been actively working to secure the right team, we have not yet found a contractor we
feel confident moving forward with. We are currently in conversation with three general
contractors who appear to be strong candidates, and we are hopeful to break ground in fall
2026. Our delay has not been due to lack of effort or interest; rather, we want to ensure we
select a team that will support a safe, high‑quality build for our home.
Thank you for your consideration of this extension request.
