Scope: The project consists of installing a wash machine box, installing new cast
iron in garage, install new water pipes and replace all fixtures in unit 230. The
building is served by an existing municipal water and sewer service connection.
The plans for the project named above have been reviewed for substantial
compliance with the Minnesota Plumbing Code, as amended, apply, and does
not cover the water supply or sewage system to which this plumbing system is
connected. The review is limited to the design and data on which the design is
based are correct, and that necessary legal authority has been obtained to
construct the project. The responsibility for the design of structural features and
the efficiency of equipment must be taken by the project designer. Approval is
contingent upon satisfactory disposition of any requirements included in this
report.
Inspection: All plumbing installations must be tested and inspected in
accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code as specified
in the Minnesota Plumbing Code 4714.103.5 thru 4714.103.8 It is the
responsibility of the contractor/installer to notify the inspection department when
ready to schedule an inspection. Call the building inspection department at (952)
442-7520 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Requirements:
1. The plumbing system shall be tested for MN Plumbing Code 4714.103.5
2. The water piping system shall be disinfected per MN Plumbing Code
4714.609.9
3. As per MN Rules, part 4714.312.9 Plastic or copper penetrating framing
members shall be protected by steel nailing plates that extend 11/2 inch
beyond the outside diameter of the pipe.
4. As per MN Building Code 1300.714.3 Penetrations thru fire walls must
have an approved U.L. listed fireproof caulk.
5. Also the washer boxes must be U.L. listed as fire rated washer boxes.
6. Verify that the water distribution pipes are sized according to MN Rules,
chapter 4714,section 610.7 through 610.12
7. Asper MN Rules, part 4714609.10 building water supply systems where
quick acting valves are installed shall be provided with water hammer
arresters to absorb high pressure resulting from thaw quick acting valves.
8. As per MN Rules, part 4715.2110 subpart 2 all threaded hose connections
must be provided with an approved safety devise.
9. The plans and specifications were prepared by a licensed Master
Plumber. The plumber who has prepared the plans is the only one that
can use the plans for construction. If another plumber is contracted to
install the plumbing, they must submit their own plans for the project.
